Meet the Team: Guillermo, Abogado & Legal Coordinator at ViaMonde

Introduction

Many of our clients and community members, who recognize Guillermo from the famous House Hunters International episode, frequently reach out to follow up on the fantastical love story between him and ViaMonde’s founder, Jennifer. “I joined ViaMonde to create a better synthesis between my personal and professional life,” Guillermo replied when asked about his motive behind joining the ViaMonde team. “Which enabled me to live in the same place as my partner, Jennifer.”

As if love weren’t enough, Guillermo is passionate about the opportunity that his work at ViaMonde affords him. The unique blend of cultural diversity and seamless travel is something Guillermo treasures about life in Europe. “It’s incredible to be able to explore so many different ways of life so easily…”  He finds immense satisfaction in sharing his own experience to help others achieve their dreams of relocating and making their journey a success.

Background & Education

As ViaMonde’s in-house Legal Coordinator, Abogado Guillermo Iso Floren’s extensive experience affords one of a kind perspective. In addition to his long-term residencies in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and China, he has also spent shorter periods of study in Austria, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, along with formative youth exchanges in the US.

Abogado Iso Floren’s career began in the public sector in Spain, where he worked on European Affairs, before transitioning to a multinational corporation that enabled him to live abroad in China on a two-year assignment. With law degrees from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, a postgraduate degree in European Law from the University of Saarland, Germany, and an MBA from Esade Business School in Barcelona (which included an exchange program at CEIBS in Shanghai) Guillermo has the perfect mixture of lived experience as an expat (for personal, professional, and educational purposes) and legal expertise.

His Work at ViaMonde

The analytical and logical reasoning that Guillermo brings to the ViaMonde team is unparalled when it comes to deconstructing complex problems in order to find innovative and effective solutions. While his legal knowledge is an obvious advantage in our industry, his personal experience through years of living and working internationally allowed him to develop a high degree of cultural awareness, including fluency in six languages, and adaptability, essential for any successful expat.

When Italian Citizenship Concierge transitioned into ViaMonde, broadening the range of our services, Abogado Guillermo’s skillset made the expansion into other European countries possible. During the crisis of the Decreto Legge, it was Abogado Guillermo’s work as the bridge between us and our legal partners that enabled our small team to file nearly two hundred cases in the span of just a few weeks.

“His capacity to handle high-stress situations and his cultural competence is crucial when navigating complex and evolving laws.” ViaMonde’s founder explains. “His passion for research also allows us to delve deeply into strategy and simplify complex topics to keep our clients well-informed.”

“Think deeply about the elements of life you feel are missing and explore how a move to Europe could help you find them….” Is Guillemo’s advice to others who seek a life abroad. “The relocation process is complex, and you can't be an expert in everything. Partnering with a professional will help you navigate challenges, avoid costly mistakes, and allow you to focus on the excitement of your new beginning.”
